Common Skin Problems, Prevention And Treatment

What are the most common skin problems and how will you prevent them? Here we list all skin problems that you may encounter, how to prevent them and how to treat them if you already have one.Acne. This is the result of clogged pores. To avoid getting pimples, you should wash your face regularly but no more than twice a day. Regular washing can strip off the natural moisture of the skin. So twice a day will be ideal. When washing your skin, use a mild hydrating soap or facial wash made of all natural ingredients. You can use facial wash with mild scrubs. However, don’t over scrub your face especially if there are already pimples on it. The pimples will only be irritated or become infected. If you already got pimples, use medicated facial wash or apply medicated facial cream. You should also make skin moisturising a habit.Skin Cancer. Protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun to avoid skin cancer. Always wear a sun protection cream. Choose make up (particularly face powder) with sunscreen protection. Choose at least one with SPF 15. You should realise that some skin medication can actually increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so if you are using skin medication, make sure you use more sun protection. Find one with higher SPF. Skin Aging. This is inevitable but your skin can age gracefully. To avoid abrupt skin aging problem, you have to always moisturise your skin. Use anti aging skin creams. Skin creams will improve the elasticity of the skin and make it younger looking. Avoid exposing your skin to the harmful rays of the sun as well. The sun can hasten the natural process of skin aging. Eczema. This is a skin problem characterised by dry and itchy skin. To avoid eczema, your skin must always be cleaned and moisturised. Avoid using chemicals that will irritate the skin. Let your skin breathe. Don’t wear clothes that will irritate your skin condition. As much as possible, stay stress free. Surprising as it may seem, stress can actually lead to eczema. If you got eczema, use medicated creams. You can buy one over the counter or have your skin checked by a dermatologist first so you can get a prescription.Skin Pigmentation. This is a common skin disorder that makes your skin appear discoloured. Some parts of your skin will be visibly lighter or darker. Skin pigmentation is the result of damaged skin cells. When the skin cells are having problem in producing melanin, the substance responsible for the skin colour, the person suffers skin pigmentation. There are skin products that foster normal melanin production. These are the most common problems and their prevention. It is a good idea to visit your dermatologist or skin specialist to check the condition of your skin. You may not know it but you may already have a skin problem. It is better to know now and prevent it or cure it than know about it when it is already too late.--Amber College is a holistic therapies centre in Ireland.
