Medical Negligence Mistakes

Medical neglegence is when a health care provider deviates from the accepted and expected standards of practice that may cause harm or death to the person’s care they are responsible for. Unfortunately, this happens all too often in today’s society. Many health centers are understaffed leaving medical professionals overworked. I know of a personal experience of a close friend of mine to which his mother died because of an overworked and negligent medical staff. My close friend’s mother was placed into a rehabilitation facility after recovering from a surgery that resulted in her inability to speak. She was admitted into the rehabilitation center with a small pressure ulcer on her left buttock and a separate one on her tailbone Unable to speak, this woman slowly died a painful death because her caring facility staff did not want to provide basic care to her. Basic instructions such as rotating her body from side-to-side to help the pressure ulcer heal was ignored, as well as keeping the area dry was ignored. These would have been basic preventive care and it was ignored. As a result of the RN’s inability to follow the care instructions from the doctor, this ulcer got larger and deeper. The patient was denied an airbed, as it was felt she was not in the facility long enough to justify the cost to purchase the bed for her. The end result became death. Her separate pressure ulcers soon became one instead of two and went so deep into her tissues it caused sepsis and became her death.--For a hassle free consultation regarding your possible medical neglegence claim.
